Day 1: MARRAKECH – AÎT BEN HADDOU -OUARZAZATE – ZAGORA – M’HAMID

Our first stop brings us to the iconic Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its breathtaking kasbah. After exploring the architectural marvels, we indulge in a delectable lunch at a local restaurant.
Continuing our expedition, we proceed to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara, where we embark on a scenic drive towards Zagora. Passing through picturesque landscapes, we absorb the beauty of the Draa Valley and its lush palm groves. As our journey unfolds, we eventually arrive at M'hamid, the gateway to the desert, where our adventure truly begins. The two day trip is condensed with lots of driving so be prepared for that but the scenery and sights are amazing.

The entire experience was truly extraordinary, from the moment we were picked up until we were dropped off. The journey to the desert was nothing short of beautiful, with delightful stops along the way that added to the overall charm. The desert itself, along with the camels and the camp, exceeded our expectations and left us in awe.
However, what truly made this experience exceptional was our driver and guide, Abdul. Not only was he fluent in English and French, but he surprised us with his knowledge of Dutch, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. He took great care of us, treating us with respect and ensuring we had a fantastic time. Abdul patiently answered all our questions about the region, sharing fascinating insights and stories.
When I asked him where he was from, Abdul simply said, “I opened my eyes in the desert.” His connection to the land was evident in the way he showcased the beauty of his people and country. His enthusiasm and passion made the journey even more remarkable.
