Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Your 5 days tour from Fes to desert end in Marrakech begins with a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its alpine-style houses and pristine streets. We’ll explore its charming landmarks, including the famous stone lion sculpture, before heading to the cedar forest of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques.
Continuing through Midelt, a town famous for its apple orchards, we’ll stop for lunch before crossing the Ziz Valley, where breathtaking palm groves stretch along the river. Passing through Errachidia and Erfoud, we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your camel trek awaits! Ride across the golden dunes and witness an unforgettable desert sunset before arriving at your Sahara camp. Enjoy a magical evening with Berber music around the fire, a traditional dinner, and a sky full of stars before settling into your comfortable tent for the night.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades
After an early sunrise over the dunes, enjoy breakfast before we set off towards Tinghir, a picturesque town known for its lush palm groves. The highlight of the day is a visit to the Todra Gorges, where towering rock walls create a stunning natural canyon – a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.
We’ll then continue through Berber villages, stopping for lunch before reaching Boumalne Dades. Here, we’ll explore the Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic landscapes and rock formations known as the "Monkey Fingers." You'll spend the night in a cozy hotel or riad with beautiful views of the valley.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we’ll drive through the stunning Rose Valley, known for its fragrant rose fields and annual Rose Festival. Continuing towards Ouarzazate, we’ll visit its famous film studios, where Hollywood productions like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed.
After lunch, you’ll have time to explore Ouarzazate, also called the "Gateway to the Desert", before checking into your riad or hotel for the night.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Today, we’ll visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved fortress villages in Morocco. This ancient site has served as a backdrop for numerous films and offers incredible panoramic views.
After exploring the kasbah, we’ll have lunch before driving through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. By evening, we’ll arrive in Marrakech, where you can unwind at your hotel or take an evening stroll through the city’s lively streets.
Day 5: Exploring Marrakech
On the final day of your 5-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour, a local guide will take you on a tour of Marrakech’s most famous landmarks, including:
